On January 1, 2018, St. John’s River Power Park closed, marking the end of an era for coal producer CMC, ship owner CSL Americas, and Host. For over 25 years, CMC shipped coal to the St. John’s River Power Park in Jacksonville, FL, and for almost a decade, Host had the honor of serving as their ship agent at the discharge port.

Host honored the special relationship by hanging a plaque at Centro Educativo Distrital Naara Kajmanta, the school we recently renovated in Colombia. The plaque is dedicated to former CMC Sales Director Francisco Garcia, who is well-known in the industry for his extraordinary ability to foster relationships between many different companies. “Francisco was not just a terrific salesman for CMC, but really more of an ambassador who went out of his way to try and help people,” says Executive Vice President Finn Host. “We thought the plaque would be a special and unique way to honor him in his native country.”
