As agents, T. Parker Host has extensive experience handling cargoes of all kinds. During the month of June, Host working as protective agents, provided grabs and grab technicians for a vessel call in the Port of Morehead City, North Carolina. Then in July our team in Norfolk, Virginia worked to bring in a heavy lift cargo from Colombia, South America. The cargo, a pair of cranes, was making the return trip to the area after being shipped to Colombia in 2012. Using a semi-submersible vessel, the cargo was ultimately sent north to Baltimore, Maryland.

This year also brought various award nominations for Host. Near the end of June, Charles “Chip” Bowman, Chief Financial Officer of T. Parker Host, was chosen by Virginia Business as a nominee for their Annual CFO of the Year Awards. In mid-September, Host was selected as one of five finalists in the International Bulk Journal Awards 2014. We were pleased to be nominated along with so many other great industry nominees. We would like to congratulate GP Shipping for being selected as the winner of the Bulk Ship Agent Award for 2014.

During the month of August, T. Parker Host, along with other members of the Incident Response Team, were recognized by the USCG for their valiant efforts in the rescue of the crew aboard the M/V J.S.
